Celebration Over Here and Over There

Yet, another christmas is celebrated. Yet, past the most anticipated season of the year.
A barbeque dinner over East Coast and a warm family gathering over the West. Except with delicious acar and lovely log cake in the West!

Hate to not be around with family at this moment, happy with all warm-hearted friends though.
GOt the first present exchange of a Popcorn Coin Box, gave out an USB mug warmer (though that person doesn't seem like it).

GAPENA gives Gov the ultimatum over language issue

Are YOU out of YOUR mind? Didn't YOU see what is coming?
Eventough how tough YOU push YOUR children learning these two crucial subjects in their own laguage, but have they imagine how tough will it for the children in future time? The world is using English as communicative language in Sciences and Maths, why don't YOU expose your children earlier to the usage of the English? Not to say how many employer has stated clear that poor command of English is among your childre, why will you still standing for something which doesn't seems beneficial in their future lives?
All world class findings and invention was done and wellknown by the world was in English language.
Countless scientific term was borrowed from English.
YOU don't even have a set of specialized term in these fields, why still keep pursuing?

The supreme status of Bahasa is undeniable.
Not even the well enlightened scholars from other nations questioned it.
But is it worth to be protected here? Imagine how hard will your children flipping through the dictionary or searching through the web to understand a simple specialized term?
How many of YOUR children is been sent out of this country to further in their tertiary education?
How many of YOU eager to perform on the international stage?
How much YOU wish YOUR nation will move on while there is still such unbelivable act?
I believe the intention was good, but PLEASE!
Satnd in children's shoes, look into their future, understand their situation, before you keep defending something which is so silly.

Innocent Love

           Innocent Love (2008)

I've not been so updated bout the Japanese Drama ever since TV3 removed from the schedule. However, the most recent one was like "The White Tower" which story of an internal contradiction of a hospital staffs. Surprisingly, the Japanese Drama somehow retouches my deepest soul with this "Innocent Love".

Story was about the siblings, a deepest love of a brother who protected his younger sister from the evil hands of father, leads to

An arson took it all away from Akiyama Kanon seven years ago. Her parents died in that fire, her brother was arrested as the prime suspect and her carefree life disappeared from that instant. She was shunned by the town as the sister of a murderer, yet she believes in her brother's innocence and often pays him visits with words of encouragement. As life gets harder when nobody is willing to give her a job, Kanon decides to try her luck in the city and there she meets the man of her destiny...

A serious tear-jerking, 11 episode drama, revolving around the kinship, and love, although I was kinda annoyed by the homosexually love by the supporting male actor, however this script is seriously another good script where the story just hit it on its nose, neither encumbrance or less.

Good show for sentimental person.

The Sounds of Silence

Hello darkness, my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence.

In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone,
'Neath the halo of a street lamp,
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence.

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more.
People talking without speaking,
People hearing without listening,
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence.

"Fools" said I, "You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows.
Hear my words that I might teach you,
Take my arms that I might reach you."
But my words like silent raindrops fell,
And echoed
In the wells of silence.

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made.
And the sign flashed out its warning,
In the words that it was forming.
And the sign said, the words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls.
And whisper'd in the sounds of silence."

Santa's round d'corner!

MidValley 2008
Sunway Pyramid 2008

1U Shopping Mall 2008
Christmas is just round the corner!
Seeing every giant shopping mall setting up the magnificent Christmas decors make me sad. I'm sad 'cause I will not be in KL when Christmas. I missed the turkey dishes and all the merry Christmas scene in town.
I'm sad , too. Even in KT.
'Cause I will be spending the last Christmas with that bunch of dearest friend in the place gradually familiar with. Wonder if there is any chance we might spend some time for such special ocassion in future.
Christmas is not a season of sadness.
Still, I'm sad.

Coconut House

This is "suppose" to be a famous dining place where seriously I've never been there before. It was originated from the magazine publisher with the same name where it turn into F&B business after the termination of the magazine business. The shop original in the crowded downtown of KL was moved to the 3twosquare near Paramount Garden. It was a rather easy-to-find spot compare to the dontown's as they provided a super clear map:

This place serves some delightful Italian cuisine including soup and pastries for appetizers, pizzas, steak and shops for main course, some chips and salad side dish, also tiramisu and some sherbet.

As since this visit was a try-out trip, we didn't order much from the menu as the price was quite pricey. But their home made charcoal toasted pizzas are good~ seriously good. Recommended the "Company of Mushroom Brothers" (if I'm not mistaken) also please try out the tiramisu.

Maybe this shop was just a new moving in or it is this, the decor was rather poor and the temperature was not as cooling. They have wide varieties of music which I believe you can request personally from the wall-sized CD rack

a peek inside
It was quite a leisure and relaxing places if you could not find a hang out point around PJ area. Other from the crowded mamaks and some dull HK-styled restaurant, you may want to try here.

Transporter 3

Transporter 3 (2008)
Was it this series where the fella who crashed the chopper with a bike or something? Anyway, I could barely remember any of the scene from the previous action-blasting movie where the colour of flames will end up to be a very blurry scene. Here comes another blasting-ly fiery movie for the cooling raining season.
Was unable to remember when is the last midnight show I had where usually midnight, will be my wonderland time! This movie was not the must-go-to-watch-list of mine, but anyhow, if you would like an hour forty minutes of non-stop action, please consider this. Jason Statham may not be the perfect choice for Frank Martin, however it's quite entertaining for his agile and nimble movements throughout the show. The interesting spot of view compare to the past is the wonderful scenery of Russian province (or ukraine?)and also the ambiguos of the main characters.

Frank and Valentina
I wonder if the people from the northern earth have these much of freckle where the makeup seems useless on the face. Or they should choose another leading lady perhaps? Despite the issue of freckle, the lady seems quite comely.

Freckled lady

Natalya might not be suitable for the action movie, but in the end she shows how a spoil child would give up for the love one. Imagine how a hair dresser may turn into surprising acting role. Miracles do happened!

Vampire and Romance - Twilight

Vampire has been the genre for commercialized movie since decades.
And here comes another movie featuring..... vampire, again.

Twilight (2008)

I thought the authors nowadays were just marching their way to become another J.K. Rowling on the market.
Initially thought Stephen Meyer was just another one.
In fact, the scenery from the mountain surrounded Forks Town in Washington US was just another breath taking point to go for this movie.
It wouldn't be a very anticipating movie to be if you had not read the book or to expose to the Twilight Saga before the show. Saw a few very negative comments bout this show, guess I will just post one of them:
I loved the books and was very excited for the release of the movie. But boy was I disappointed. The characters were wooden and I think I have seen better acting in a high school play. The casting director must have slept through the auditions. The only characters that came across as halfway believable were Charlie and Alice. Bella had one look, like she was constipated, I don't think she smiled at all. Edward didn't appear to have any depth. The movie took the exciting parts of the book and smashed them together without any character development. If I hadn't read the books, a number of things would not have made sense as there was no attempt to set them up or connect them. In my party there was a 12 year old girl and even she was not impressed. For anyone thinking about going to this movie, I recommend that you save your money. I would go to the next outing with the Twilight Saga, but only if it had a different director, editor and cast; otherwise it would be a waste of time and money.
Hopefully for those who had watched just give the show some credits for the effort in making words comes alive.

Joey Lawrence

I know this might look some pirated and violation of other's property, but I can't help to spread to the whole world how breath-taking were the photos taken by Joey Lawrence.
the homepage

Though I'm not really into any photo-shooting spirit and sense, but I had gotten compliment from a friend of mine which I have the "sense of photo". I shot some nice pictures, but compared to this renowned artist, it was really like the junk by the road side.

fragile life form by the roadside

Seriously, it might not be inspiring to some of you but, seriously, those are goo pictures, with the colouration of emphasized items and object, it seems that every picture taken was able to tell a story out by itself.

man in the busy street

Surprisingly, "Twilight" was also shot by him! The famous movie-transformed novel by Stephanie Meyer!

Please do visit the site. You will be surprised how we missed the beauties in life.

Losing out

Lim Kit Siang on Three Higher Education Ministers in 4 years while universities continue plunge in international rankings and losing out to Indonesia after left behind by Singapore/Thailand

Try to look at that.
Why is Malaysian keep always think they are best and keep denying the fact that we're losing out?
For all those who are affordable, please send your children to other better tertiary education.
for all those who are less capable of doing so, you might want to work hard to earn yourself a scholarship which, WHICH helps you get out of this Boleh-land.

Pathetic Malaysian education system.
Especially with all those M*lay Supremacy Egoism.

Loy Krathong ลอยกระทง

The Siamese Lantern Festival, a.k.a. Loy Krathong has yet to be an major event celebrated by Chinese and Siamese Community in Terengganu. For years, the event was held in Kuala Ibai Golf Resort, which was a fairly commodious venue to fit in mass visitor.

"Loi" means "to float". "Krathong" is a raft about a handspan in diameter traditionally made from a section of banana tree trunk (although modern-day versions use specially made bread 'flowers' and may use styrofoam), decorated with elaborately-folded banana leaves, flowers, candles, incense sticks etc. During the night of the full moon, many people will release a small raft like this on a river.

Colourful lantern which is expensive
The major event of the festive was to release the handspan lantern into the river, along with wishes and blessings from the monk from Thailand. The lantern was rather hard to lit as the wind was strong the other night. we've tried for half an hour to wait for the flame to stabilize and release into river.

the lantern I bought...  colour was rather simple

lanterns in the river
There is also a dragon boat situated in the middle of the river, believed that symbolized that the messenger from the heaven above. Though I am a Catholic, I wasn't taboo in these Buddhism believes. Ultimately, all religion also leads disciple to virtue rather than vice!

Blurry view of the yards away dragon boat

lucky pick branches

Other than the traditional shadow play, there is also this lucky pick branches where some sort of lucky draw. It was so costly where you might get a pack of junk food for RM1 play! The event was so crowded as they begin to dismiss only after 12. It was a nice event to get along with as you may influenced by the energetic performance by the Siamese singers and dancers. The only regret is that they do not show much Thai food which was my original intention to come!

Loy... Loy... Krathong!

La Hot Spring - hotty-scalding

It was another usual stress free trip which has been planned few months back
The destination for this trip is La Hotsring, which situated at the north most part of Terengganu State, nearly the Besut and Jertih interception.

On the way to the destination, it's really a wonder where you may see various kind of magnificent mosque buildings,

No kidding! Some just look so much like the Chinese temple or some Indian's, except with an onion found on top of the building. The trip took approximately 2 hours from Kuala Terengganu, following all the way up to Koat Bahru, and make a turning whenever you see a sign board. The main path to the hotspring is currently under renovation where you have to follow the winding and jolting palm orchard way where normal tar road was not seen. One thing to be careful is that cowdung is everywhere on the road, there's no use for you to apply the excellent driving skill in avoiding the bombs!

Main road under renovation
The entrance to the hotspring was rather primitive without any signs for places of interest. No parking fee was collected by right supposed to be an amount of RM2. No entrance fees, and there is plenty of food stalls around the area.

little stream with super cooling water

Just after unloading all the belongings from car, with the packages of food we've prepared for a perfect picnic meal, we're off to the amazing natural scene of the less anthropogenic sabotaged jungle.

The main pool
There is a public washroom where you can get changed, and a 2 to 3 minutes walk from the public toilet to the main pool. Visitors are unable to see the the mouth of the spring however, the water is believed, channeled from the mountain to the pool. This min pool has the exceptionally high temperature where your feet will turn red in no time once immersed into the water.

Wuuhuu! HOT!!

Err, I think I will better skip this one since I'm really a thermophobic person. There is another warmer pond just a cliffy downards from the main pool, where the water was channeled from the main. and further down is the super nice cooling stream, which is believed from the water fall further up in the jungle.

Physic 101: The therma distribution at La Hotspring
However, how will you define warm?
The warm section doesn't seems any cooler than the HOT! You can barely go into the pool where just the feet is the maximum boundary on the body part to be in there!

Cooler but still scorching hot
Huu huu~ someone get scalded!

Well, I seriously Prefer the cooler section, where you feel like exactly the ice water running through your skin!

... and spotted a BULLY!

Meal time we serve ourself the all time favourite curry chicken from Chia's recipe! The food was gone in the twinkling of an eye, where we finish all the bread we brought! Woah~ any challenge?

All-time favourite curry chicken!
Well, being the last half-year staying in this far east coast, it has been a mission not to regret in future time as missing a lot of places of interest! Though the driving was rather exhauting and damaging to the vehicle, worth it!

Despite the boredom

Whenever you stop by somewhere near Gong Badak in Kuala Terengganu, Please, go visit some sotong goreng (fried cuttlefish) stores where you seriously will swallow your tongue down the throat. Not to mention the freshness of the cuttlefish as they have fresh stock everyday, also because of the unique chili sauce that they served over this place.

While enjoying the delicacies, I realized that the runway for the airport has almost done in construction. Reclamation of almost 2 kilometers runway is causing a adverse effect onto the shoreline and the marine habitat in the marine habitat. Such devastating move need not professional and scientific basics to understand how serious it can cause to the environment.

It was really a indignant incident in which the local educational institution does not even voice their opinion or to porpose any constructive resolution strategy in mainataining the natural environment, nor they even show any concern onto the matter. It is such a waste for the government and the local people to put faith in them which will benefits the local community. With tens and hundreds marine expertise, ecologists, marine conservation workers, scientist and also many more proffesor ranked personnel, not even any effort was done. This is sad and deplorable. Imagine a tertiary education institute who always flaunt the "sustainable environmental development" as their motive, and yet have destroyed more than tens of acre of mangroves for the unneccessary construction of religious centre and multipurpose hall. Despite the low number of students in the institution itself, also the robustness of the hardware facilities which not even fully utilized by the students and staff. Destruction of the major habitat as such seriously doesn't do much good to the environment nor to the study progree of the students and researchers.

Mentioning for 5 seconds in the lecture with such cowardly strength, complaining to the students on how you should or shan't, why wouldn't they turn those passive energy in producing beneficial moves?

Really, other than these, don't they seriously wanna voice out how seriously is the matter?
Flattering what is unreal is what the leaders do nowadays?
Ni*M*h~  (Gosh! sound so much like Patrick Teoh!)
